As part of the 11th Ayurveda Day Celebrations, MVR Ayurveda Medical College organised a series of academic, outreach and public awareness programmes led by various departments. The celebrations brought the message of Ayurveda to students, schoolchildren and the public through competitions, awareness classes, health check-ups, a herbal garden visit and a public flash mob.

As part of the Ayurveda Day Celebrations, an awareness class on PCOS/PMOS was conducted at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dharmasala. The session was delivered by III Professional BAMS students Ms. Niranjana P P and Ms. Sneha Chandran.

A total of 56 students attended. The class covered awareness about PCOS/PMOS, common signs and symptoms, risk factors, healthy lifestyle practices, early identification, and the importance of timely medical consultation. The session was interactive, giving participants the opportunity to clarify their doubts.

Pre-test and post-test evaluation forms were given before and after the class to assess the effectiveness of the session and the improvement in participants' knowledge and understanding.

The programme concluded with an emphasis on awareness, healthy lifestyle, early recognition and timely medical evaluation of PCOS/PMOS.

As part of the 11th Ayurveda Day Celebrations, an essay writing competition was organised at MVR Ayurveda Medical College on 22 September 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The competition was conducted on the theme "Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow", with the aim of encouraging students to explore the relevance of Ayurveda in promoting health, preventing diseases and developing sustainable healthcare practices.

BAMS and postgraduate students actively participated and expressed their knowledge, ideas and perspectives on the role of Ayurveda in modern healthcare. The theme gave students an opportunity to reflect on traditional Ayurvedic principles, healthy lifestyles, preventive medicine, and the integration of Ayurveda with contemporary healthcare.

The participants highlighted the significance of Ayurveda in maintaining physical and mental well-being, promoting natural healing, and addressing lifestyle-related health challenges. The competition also encouraged critical thinking, creativity and academic interest among the students.

The event was conducted in an academic and encouraging atmosphere, and the participation of both undergraduate and postgraduate students added academic value and diversity to the programme. The competition successfully contributed to the celebrations by motivating students to appreciate Ayurveda and its role in promoting holistic health for future generations.

As part of the 11th Ayurveda Day Celebrations 2026, the Department of Dravyaguna Vijnana, MVR Ayurveda Medical College, Parassinikkadavu, organised an Ayurveda Awareness Flash Mob on 22 September 2026 at 4:00 PM in front of Snake Park, Parassinikkadavu, with the participation of the 2024 Batch BAMS students.

The flash mob aimed to create public awareness about Ayurveda and its relevance in healthy living. The students presented an energetic and vibrant performance carrying the message and values of Ayurveda.

The performance attracted public attention and created an engaging platform for spreading awareness. It highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting the traditional wisdom of Ayurveda among the younger generation, while giving students an opportunity to take part in public outreach.

Reflecting the spirit of celebrating Ayurveda through an innovative and lively medium, the event successfully encouraged the public to watch, participate, celebrate and spread awareness about Ayurveda.

The Department of Kaumarabhritya, MVR Ayurveda Medical College, Parassinikkadavu, organised an Awareness Class and Health Check-up Programme as part of the 11th Ayurveda Day Celebration on 23 September 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The programme aimed to create awareness among school children about Dinacharya (daily regimen) and its role in maintaining health, promoting healthy habits and preventing diseases.

A total of 75 students from Pappinissery West LP School participated. The awareness session on "Importance of Dinacharya in Children" was conducted by Dr. Aiswarya, House Surgeon. The session covered healthy daily routines for children, including personal hygiene, oral hygiene, healthy eating habits, adequate sleep, physical activity and other essentials of a healthy lifestyle.

Following the class, a health check-up was conducted for the students by the Department of Kaumarabhritya. The assessment helped identify common health concerns among the children and promoted the importance of regular health monitoring.

The programme served as an effective platform for health education and preventive healthcare among school children, highlighting the role of Ayurveda in promoting healthy daily practices and overall well-being. The programme concluded at 1:00 PM.

Dr. Aparna T. P, Assistant Professor, Department of Kayachikitsa, delivered the class, highlighting the importance of adopting healthy habits from childhood and the role of Ayurveda in promoting health and preventing illness.

As part of the 11th Ayurveda Day Celebrations 2026, the Department of Dravyaguna Vijnana, MVR Ayurveda Medical College, Parassinikkadavu, organised an Ayurveda Awareness Programme on 23 September 2026 at the college Herbal Garden for the students of Pappinissery West LP School.

The programme aimed to create awareness among students about Ayurveda, medicinal plants and their importance in daily life. The students were introduced to various medicinal plants in the Herbal Garden, along with their identifying features and therapeutic uses. Faculty members of the department provided explanations and practical guidance, and the students actively took part in the guided observation and identification of plants.

As an extension of the initiative, the Department of Dravyaguna Vijnana, in association with Ela Nursery and Agro Farm, distributed medicinal plant saplings to the students, encouraging them to cultivate and conserve medicinal plants.

The programme gave students practical knowledge beyond the classroom and promoted awareness about conserving medicinal plants and preserving the traditional knowledge of Ayurveda. It was conducted in an interactive and engaging manner, with active participation from students and teachers.

The initiative was successfully completed with the cooperation of Pappinissery West LP School, Ela Nursery and Agro Farm, and the Department of Dravyaguna Vijnana.

The Nutrition Week Celebrations 2026 were organised by the Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga, MVR Ayurveda Medical College, in association with the Department of Biochemistry, MVR Institute of Life Science and Research Studies. The programme aimed to create awareness about healthy nutrition, nutraceuticals and Ayurvedic dietary principles in the prevention of lifestyle-related diseases.

Inaugural Session

The programme began at 10:00 AM at the Academic Block with a prayer, followed by the welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Anusree M, Professor & HOD, Department of Swasthavritta and Yoga. The presidential address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Joshi George, MVR Ayurveda Medical College. The programme was formally inaugurated by Prof. E. Kunhiraman, Director, MVR Group of Institutions, and a special address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Sangeeth K P, Principal, MVR Institute of Life Science and Research Studies.

A felicitation ceremony honoured dignitaries of MVR Ayurveda Medical College and MVR Institute of Life Science and Research Studies. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Muhsina P V, Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry.

From 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, Biochemistry students of MVR Institute of Life Science and Research Studies presented on balanced nutrition and healthy food choices.

Guest Talk

The highlight of the programme was the guest talk by Prof. Dr. Sajitha Bhadran, Professor & HOD, Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga, Government Ayurveda Medical College, Pariyaram, Kannur, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The session focused on nutraceuticals and Ayurvedic dietary rules in lifestyle disease prevention, offering valuable insights into the role of proper diet in maintaining health and preventing lifestyle disorders.

The programme served as an informative platform for students and faculty, and concluded with a renewed appreciation for the role of nutrition in promoting a healthy lifestyle and preventing disease.
